Description
The TEAC TN-4D-SE is a 2-speed (33 and 45 rpm) direct-drive vinyl record player with a new, ultra-stable electric motor. Unlike the previous TN-3B model, it does not have a digital USB output.
The low-profile brushless DC electric motor made it possible to make the case thinner and, thus, give this player a stylish appearance. The disk speed control system is stabilized by a quartz crystal–based clock generator and ensures high accuracy and smooth rotation (without small ripples - "cogging").
Combined with the newly developed motor, the high-inertia, die-cast aluminum disc also helps to achieve better speed stability.
The new tonearm uses knife bearings developed in collaboration with SAEC Corporation, a world-renowned manufacturer of high-end tonearms. As a result, it was possible to achieve a penetrating sound with high resolution, which cannot be compared with tonearms with conventional bearings.
The signal from the cartridge is picked up by a carefully designed preamp-phono corrector, which allows you to directly connect the player to the line inputs of your existing hi-fi system. High-quality operational amplifiers of the NJM8080 type, specially developed for hi-fi applications by New Japan Radio Corporation, are used to transmit the finest details of music.
To extract music from vinyl records, the TN-4D-SE is supplied with the Oyster MM (moving magnet) cartridge from SUMIKO, a legendary American manufacturer, which is highly appreciated by music lovers. Known for its innate musicality, the cartridge comes with a shell pre-installed at the factory, which allows the player to work almost on the principle of 'plug and play' ("plug and listen"). At the same time, the S-shaped tonearm allows you to quickly change the cartridge/shell, so users can choose the sound pattern by experimenting with different cartridges, if desired.
The audio signal is output to unbalanced outputs with low distortion, providing high sound quality. Analog output on RCA connectors – switchable: Phono/LINE.
The vibration-proofing supports consist of a chiseled aluminum body topped with a rubber cushion, which is attached to a high-density MDF body. Due to its excellent shock absorption characteristics, the TN-4D-SE is very resistant to acoustic feedback.
The TEAC TN-4D turntable is sold with a dust cover. Body finish: Piano Black (black piano lacquer) or Walnut (walnut veneer). In general, the TN-4D-SE is an analog vinyl turntable that provides high rotational speed accuracy and features a direct-drive design that provides it with a sleek and stylish look.
